Welcome to the web site of Georgia Tech's National Electric Energy Testing Research and Applications Center (NEETRAC).

The field of electric energy is faced with changing regulations, emerging technologies, and the approaching integration of utility services. As these changes take place, electric utilities, equipment manufacturers, and related industries are faced with imperatives to allocate resources cost-effectively, to deploy new technologies, and to find and retain educated new talent to lead them through these changes.

Our test facilities, Research and Development staff and the vast human and technological resources of Georgia Tech place NEETRAC in a unique position to answer these unprecedented challenges. The NEETRAC team, in conjunction with our industry members are engaged in:

  • Conducting leading edge pre-competitive research and development
  • Developing state-of-the-art test methodologies, equipment and practices
  • Providing a venue for sustained technology transfer
  • Coordinating and leading selective efforts in the standards arena
  • Supporting high-level educational and training programs

As a membership centered organization, our industrial partners play a defining role in these activities. We invite you to explore our web site, and discover the full scope of the research, testing, and application work that we do, and why we have established ourselves as one of the foremost electric energy research and development centers in the world.
